This example provides a longitudinal overview of all initiatives undertaken by a single higher education institution, for the period between 2003-2015. The example offers insights in different approaches to screen and assess ESD, develop instruments and tools and create staff induction for ESD competences.
Starting from a sustainability assessment in 2003, the UCLL has undertaken a process of SD integration, focusing on educational aspects on the one hand (competences, curriculum, pedagogical approaches), and organisational change on the other hand (campus operations, ecological footprint analysis).
Professional Development Approach
Different approaches of professional development are available in this case: mapping and screening of competences, courses and curriculum; general PD on sustainability; specific PD on sustainability related to the study programs.
